Introduction To FOOD
Food! Just a thinking of food, our mouth gets watered. Food is a nutrition support to the human body system. It is a combination of proteins, minerals, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins. This nutritional support provides energy to human body cells that help to maintain the growth of the body. The intake of food had started in history by hunting, gathering, and agriculture. The food intake got changing as time passing, growth of agriculture was getting developed through different technologies for further leads to born of new and healthy food to intake.
The plants are the most original of the food. Some of the food acquired directly from plants and animals is also one of the food sources for the human being. Moreover, Cereal grain is the primary nutrition that contains high energy. Grain can be helpful to feed livestock. Other than this, some of the food is not from plants or animals such as mushrooms, fungi. It is beneficial for fermentation and pickle making.
Understanding the Taste-
Humans have got a boon to taste the food with the combination of sweetness, sourness, bitterness, salty, and umami. The human tongue contains taste papillae it includes tiny bumps that help humans to recognize the food taste. By these taste perceptions, a human can quickly identify the taste of food. Most people love to eat sweet, sour, and salty food instead of bitter, umami.
Sweet-
Sweetness is a taste preferred by everyone as it is nothing but sugar, a combination of glucose and fructose.
Bitter-
The unpleasant taste, don’t prefer by people. Bitter is a most sensitive taste with toxic compounds. Coffee, coca tea, uncured olives are some of the examples of a bitter taste.
Sour-
Sour food includes citric and acid taste, fruits like lemon, oranges, limes, pickles, etc.
Salty-
Saltiness is the combination of sodium and potassium. Almost in each food dish, there is a high or low proportion of salt required. It is an essential ingredient that the human body needs. It helps to maintain the Kidney Function known as electrolyte balance. Iodine is the thing that helps to process the thyroid function of the human body.
Umami-
A combination of Glutamates and nucleotides refers to Umami taste. Food such as tomatoes, meat, soy sauce, mushroom, shellfish, fish has a strong flavor of umami.
Types of Food-
Food is a combination of different food such as adulterated food, diet food, camping food, frozen food, seasonal food, healthy food, live food, natural food, organic food, shelf-stable food, etc. In today’s world, the demand for different food is increasing fastly. People prefer to eat different taste food. There is food in the world which has great tastes and gives a pleasant feeling to the eater.

Natural Food-
In the word itself explained about food. Natural food means the food is not processed, the ingredients in it are natural and do not contain any additives. Fruits, vegetables are some of the examples of natural food.
Adulterated Food-
Adulterated food means the addition of another ingredient to increase the quantity of the food item in raw or prepared form. For example – a product like meat water or ice items used to adulterate to meat.
Organic Food-
Organic food is produced with a proper method and standards of farming. Organic farming requires obtaining cycle resources, promote ecological balance, and conserve biodiversity.
Diet Food-
Diet food refers to any food whose recipe is changed to reduce fat, calories, sugar to make it part of a weight loss program or diet. It is a low food energy substitute for some high food energy ingredients.
Camping Food-
Camping Food that has appropriate cooking time, perishability, weight, and nutritional content. Camping foods are often made up of either freeze-dried, precooked, or dehydrated to fulfill their needs.
Frozen Food-
In the past fishermen, farmers have maintained grains and produce in unheated buildings during the winter season. In today’s situation, the freezers are playing the role of freezing. Fish, meat are some examples of frozen food.
Seasonal Food-
Here, seasonal food refers to the flavor of a given type of food is at its peak.
Functional Food-
Functional food is food given an additional function by adding new or more existing ingredients.
Finger Food-
Finger food is food meant to eat directly using the hands, in contrast to eating with a knife and fork, spoon, chopsticks, or other utensils. Sausage rolls, sticks, spring rolls, buns, bhajis, samosas, sandwiches are finger foods.
Healthy Food-
Healthy food refers to essential nutrition, fluid, macronutrients, micronutrients, and adequate calories required for the immune system. It contains fruits, vegetables, and whole grains.
Getting exercise and healthy diet food refers to a healthy lifestyle. It helps to lower disease risks, like obesity, heart disease, cancer.
Peasant Foods-
These are dishes that are made from accessible and inexpensive ingredients, and usually prepared and seasoned to make them more palatable.
Traditional Food-
Traditional foods are foods and dishes that passed through generations or which have been consumed by many generations. Traditional foods may have a historical precedent in a national dish, regional cuisine, or local cuisine.
Fresh Food-
Fresh food is food that has not been preserved and has not been spoil yet. For vegetables and fruits, this means that it has recently harvested properly to post-harvest.
Different food dishes are the way of communication. Each region in the world has its food dish to communicate. Different cultures have their cooking methods by using different spices, flavors, which evolve.
Some popular classifications of ethnic foods include Italian, Chinese, Japanese, Cajun, French, Indian, African. The cultures throughout the world study the dietary analysis for different food habits by the people. Food is intaken and typically enjoyed through the sense of taste, preference of flavor from eating and drinking.
Different types of food took the world to a different level. The dishes made all over the world are divine, delicious. So we should enjoy the food and its different great tastes. It gives us a high level of satisfaction, joy.
